Financial Closure of Super Mai Hydroelectric Project (9.6 MW)
A consortium of
four commercial banks, led by Sanima Bank Limited and participating Banks i.e. Century
Commercial Bank, NCC Bank and Jyoti Bikash Bank, has signed loan facility
agreement for Rs.1.37 billion with Sagarmatha Jalabidhyut Co. Pvt. Ltd. for the
construction of Super Mai A Hydropower
Project. The project is located at
Sulbung and Pyang VDC of Mechi District in Estern Development Region ,Nepal. It
is a Run-of River type project with 186.96m net head and annual energy after
outage is 56.467GWh.
Total cost of
the project is estimated Rs.1.89 billion and out of total cost 25 percent i.e.
NRs 45 crore will invest by developers and remainder amount is funded by
consortium banks
The construction
has been started from mangsir,2075 and it is estimated that the project will
complete within two years. Many works like Surge Tank, Powerhouse , Desander Basin, Accesss
Canal and Gravel Trap are in undercostruction
and other works already started.
The project is
scheduled its commercial generation by the end of 2077 B.S. The company claimed
that the project will complete before
agreement date with NEA.
Moreover ,the
company has completed three hydropower projects with totalcapacity of 12MW.
